The beginning of something new (And potentially awesome?)

This is the commencement, inception, emergence, beginning, birth, dawn… or well… start, of this blog, thought piece, blurb, record, diary, journal, or mind vomit committed to word… (Ok, I’ll stop.)

This is the start of my new blog, a journal of a panicking 29 year old one time college drop out turned graduate who’s approaching 30 for the same reason someone jumps off a sinking boat. The ocean is going to be cold, but the alternative would probably suck a lot more. So to put it mildly, I’m not where I imagined I’d be by 30 and I see this upcoming year as my chance to turn my life around.

So let’s start with a bit of background on where I am and why I’m panicking. Starting with where I thought I’d be at 30.(Brace yourself) A world travelling engineer who’s great at but isn’t limited to; cooking, mechanical/electrical repairs, alcohol brewing, money, language, music, home renovations, child raising, dancing, and of course who’s fit as a Greek god.

So…. Where am I at 29? Obviously I’ve been working towards my dream self right? I must be close, ya? Short answer… No. Long answer is that 30 always seemed so far away that I never bothered working towards my dreams. I’ve basically been procrastinating on my own life. It’s one thing to push off an essay to the last minute, you still get it done. (No matter how half assed) But without a deadline, life just seems to continue to drift on. Days flow in to weeks, weeks flow in to months, and before you know it you’re staring down the ocean and you’re forced to jump in without a life vest.

I’m getting ahead of myself though, let me break down what you can expect to see in this weekly blog. Each week I’ll be mostly writing about what I’m learning/working on that week and why I think it’s important. The idea being that you might see a trait or skill you might want to work on that you never considered before.

You can expect more of my dry/awkward sense of humor as we go forward with this blog. If that’s the sort of thing you’d like to have in your life, then stay along with us for the ride. As we go from “Adulting To Adulthood”.
